The Geometry of Us

The Geometry of Us

By Natali Schmitz

Dedication

For my husband and our sons —

You are my compass, my four points of light,

The sacred geometry of everything I am.

Chapter One — The Calling

I didn’t go looking for the ring — it found me.

It started as a simple curiosity, almost random, yet something in me knew it wasn’t random at all. I’d seen it before, the Atlantean ring — its strange geometry, its ancient promise of protection, balance, and power. It felt familiar, like remembering a song I’d known before this lifetime.

When I began searching for it, I wasn’t just buying jewelry. I was answering something that had been whispering to me for years — a quiet pull toward the old ways, the sacred symbols, the language of the soul hidden in lines and shapes.

And then came the engraving. Four numbers: 9, 26, 26, 16. They were just birthdays at first — days that marked the people I love most in this world. But even before I understood what they meant, I knew they belonged on that ring.

I chose the Elder Futhark runes to mark them — ancient, protective letters that felt alive under my fingertips.

 ᛋᚢᚾ9 ᛗᛟᛟᚾ26 ᛋᚢᚾ26 ᛋᚢᚾ16.

The cipher of my family. The code of our souls.

When I held the ring for the first time, it was warm — almost pulsing. I didn’t know it yet, but I was holding the blueprint of our lineage.

 A circle of protection.

 A map of everything sacred.

Chapter Two — The Sacred Cipher

The first ring wasn’t an accident.

I thought I was simply choosing a design and making it mine — adding the runes of my family inside, marking the gold with our cipher. But looking back, it feels like the universe gave me that ring as a teacher, not as a final destination.

I still remember the day I lost it. I was washing my hands, sliding the ring back and forth under the water, and when I dried my hands under the band it must have slipped. Without realizing it, I threw it away with the paper towel. Later, I searched the house high and low, feeling that restless panic you only feel when you’ve misplaced something sacred.

And there it was, buried in the trash — waiting to be found again.

That night I dreamed of a shadow, a demon-like figure, and woke up unsettled. In the quiet of the morning I understood: the ring was important, but not in the way I thought. I had altered its sacred geometry by engraving it. I had changed something meant to be left whole.

But losing it — and then finding it — became my initiation. It was the ring itself that led me to her.

The ringmaker. The woman who crafts these pieces by hand, a Reiki master who understands the energy of shapes and proportions. Her work isn’t just metal and geometry; it’s prayer and intention made tangible. I found her website. I watched videos about her. I followed the thread. And when I held her ring for the first time, I knew I was holding the true version of what I’d been seeking.

I no longer wear the original ring. It rests quietly now, a talisman of the path, a reminder of how the sacred sometimes tests us to see if we are ready to receive. It’s the first chapter of the story, and the new ring is the second.

This ring — crafted in the Golden Mean, in sacred geometry, by hands that understand Reiki and resonance — is the one I now wear. It carries my family’s cipher not as an engraving that breaks the pattern, but as a living energy coded within me, within the ritual, within the tradition we’re building.

Chapter Three — The Feather and the Spirit

The feathers came before the new ring.

I had already felt the call of the feathers. They were the first signs, the first gentle messengers. They appeared in my life as if the universe was preparing me, showing me that spirit speaks in symbols long before we understand the language.

Feathers have always been messengers. Across cultures they symbolize freedom, ascension, protection, and divine communication. For me, they became a bridge — between earth and air, between the material world I walk and the spiritual language I’m learning to speak again.

When I chose to have them tattooed near my ankle, I didn’t realize how perfectly they would fit into the story of my life. Placed where movement begins, they remind me that although my feet are on the ground, my spirit is free to rise and flow. They are my visible prayer — my way of saying “I am guided, I am protected, I am moving forward.”

On the other side of my ankle, opposite the feathers, rests another piece of my story: a unalome with a lotus at the top. The unalome’s spiraling path marks the struggles, twists, and lessons of my journey through addiction; the lotus above it represents my rebirth — my life clean and renewed, blooming out of the mud of my past.

I’ve always loved the quote, “It is said some lives are linked across time. Connected by an ancient calling that echoes through the ages. Destiny.”

Those words feel like my life — like the current that carried me through chaos into clarity.

Together, the feathers and the unalome are like pages from a living book. They tell my story without words — the struggles and the freedom, the grounding and the flight, the darkness and the rebirth. They complement the ring I now wear, forming a personal constellation of symbols that live on my skin and in my heart.

Chapter Four — The Revelation of 22

Sometimes meaning hides in plain sight, waiting for us to be ready to see it.

For years, the number 22 had been quietly threading itself through my life — appearing in dates, symbols, and moments I didn’t yet understand. It wasn’t until after the ring, after the runes, after the feathers and the unalome, that the pattern finally revealed itself.

It started as a casual thought, the kind that drifts in and then lingers a little too long to ignore: When did we first meet?

 October 22nd.

And when did he propose?

 October 22nd.

The same day — four years apart.

Two twos, standing side by side.

But then I looked deeper, and it all began to connect.

When I looked at our family’s birthdays — 1.9, 6.26, 10.26, and 7.16 — I realized that 22 was woven through them too. My birthday, June 26, carries the 26 — 2 and 6 — a sum of 8, the number of infinity and balance. My firstborn’s birthday, October 26, repeats it. Even July 16 resolves to 7, completing a harmony with January 9, the foundation. Together, the months and days form a sacred pattern, each point resolving into 22, the number of master builders, alignment, and legacy.

It was as if time itself had built our family in the language of geometry and numbers — every date part of a larger design.

In numerology, 22 is called the Master Builder, the number of sacred creation — the bridge between vision and reality. It’s the frequency that takes divine ideas and turns them into something tangible. The number of structure, balance, and legacy.

That’s exactly what my husband and I have been doing all along.

We met, we grew, we stumbled, we built.

We created a family, a home, a love that endures through storms and seasons.

Now I can see that the number 22 has been echoing through everything — through the geometry of my ring, through the lines of my tattoos, through the birthdays of my family, and through the milestones that define my life.

It’s not coincidence. It’s alignment.

October 22nd was our beginning and our promise — two twos mirroring each other like pillars, like balance, like the architecture of something divine.

And in discovering that truth, I realized something even deeper:

The ring, the feathers, the runes — they aren’t separate symbols at all.

They are one language, written by the universe, reminding me that I am exactly where I’m meant to be.

Chapter Five — The Four Pillars of Our Numerology

When I began looking into the deeper layers of our family’s numbers, I discovered something extraordinary — a hidden harmony beneath the surface of our birth dates. By reducing each birth date to a single digit, a practice at the heart of numerology, I uncovered the core vibrations that shape each of us. My husband’s birth date reduces to 7, known as The Seeker, a vibration of spiritual insight, deep wisdom, and inner truth.

My own reduces to 9, The Healer, carrying the energy of completion, compassion, and purpose.

Our firstborn resolves to 4, The Builder, representing foundation, structure, discipline, and the creation of legacy.

And our youngest reduces to 2, The Peacemaker, the vibration of balance, harmony, connection, and intuitive empathy.

What amazed me most was how perfectly these four numbers — 7, 9, 4, and 2 — mirror the structure of sacred geometry itself. Each plays a role in the architecture of our family’s energy: the 7 embodies spirit and wisdom, guiding us toward higher truths. The 9 holds the heart, sustaining us with compassion and love. The 4 grounds us, building the tangible structures that support our lives. And the 2 weaves it all together, uniting us in balance and connection.

Together, they form a sacred blueprint — a perfect balance of mind, heart, body, and soul. Spirit and wisdom guide us. Compassion and purpose sustain us. Structure and legacy root us. And balance and connection unify us. It’s no wonder that the number 22 — the Master Builder — weaves through all of this, because 22 is the sum of these energies working together. It is the family we’ve built, the life we’re creating, and the living geometry that holds us together.

Chapter Six — The Ritual and the Legacy

Everything sacred begins with intention.

The ring, the runes, the feathers, the numbers—each has been a piece of a larger language, and now they come together as a single practice, a living ritual.

I’ve learned that energy doesn’t just exist; it listens. It responds to care, to attention, to devotion. That’s what the ritual is about—listening back.

When I cleanse the ring, I do it slowly, with awareness. Cool water first, to wash away anything that isn’t mine. A soft cloth next, to remind it of gentleness. Sometimes sunlight, sometimes moonlight, depending on what I need more of—fire or water, action or reflection.

Then, I hold it close to my heart and whisper the words that anchor it:

“I cleanse and charge this ring with love, protection, and clarity.

May its sacred geometry align me with truth and higher wisdom.

May it shield me and my family from harm, and anchor our legacy in light.”

As I speak, I picture four points of light forming around me:

 1.9, 6.26, 10.26, 7.16—our birthdays, our coordinates in time.

Each point glows brighter until they connect, forming a luminous shape—our family’s own sacred geometry.

 Wisdom. Compassion. Foundation. Peace.

The pillars of who we are.

I see the light spiral into the ring, into me, into the air itself.

And I remember that this isn’t just for me—it’s for them.

For my husband, for my boys, for the future that carries our name and our energy forward.

The ritual isn’t complicated. It doesn’t need to be.

It’s love in motion, geometry in prayer, intention in form.

A living conversation between heaven and earth.

I think about the number 22 now—the axis of it all—the number that appeared long before I understood its meaning. It has become our family’s silent symbol, a kind of invisible thread weaving through everything we build. Every time I see it, it feels like a nod from the universe, a quiet reminder: you are building something sacred.

The feathers remind me to stay light.

The unalome reminds me of where I’ve come from.

The ring reminds me that what I build now will outlive me.

And one day, when my sons are older, I will pass this story to them—the ring, the cipher, the ritual, and the truth of what it means to be guided by something unseen but deeply known.

Because this is more than a tradition.

 It’s a map.

A legacy written not just in words, but in numbers, symbols, and love.

Chapter Seven— The Third Alignment

After the second ring arrived, I thought the story was complete. I loved it deeply — its weight, its geometry, its energy. But my heart kept returning to another piece, a rose gold ring, the one I had wanted from the very beginning. It had always felt like the one, but I hadn’t been able to purchase it at the time.

And then, something extraordinary happened.

While I was away on a camping trip, the second ring arrived at home. That same week, I received an unexpected gift — one that allowed me to purchase the ring that had been calling to me all along.

When I returned and slipped the second ring onto my finger, I felt immense gratitude — but also clarity. I couldn’t get it out of my head. This wasn’t just coincidence. It was alignment. The universe had moved to make space for what was meant to be.

I reached out to the ringmaker and told her I would be purchasing the rose gold ring — the original one that had spoken to my soul. And with that decision came another truth: my heart was calling me to gift the second ring to my twin sister.

She has walked her own path of challenges and transformation, and I believe this ring — imbued with protection, intention, and sacred geometry — was always meant for her. It found its way to me so that it could ultimately find its way to her.

It all happened for a reason. The ring’s journey mirrors our own: sometimes what comes first is only part of the path, preparing the way for what’s truly meant to arrive. And when it does, it brings with it the opportunity to share the blessings we receive — to turn personal magic into shared protection.

Chapter Seven — The Geometry of Us

In the end, everything connects.

The numbers, the shapes, the feathers, the metal, the dates, the dreams — they were never separate stories. They were pieces of the same design, waiting for me to recognize the pattern.

When I trace it all back, it begins with curiosity. With the quiet pull of something I didn’t yet understand. I thought I was looking for a ring, but what I was really looking for was remembrance. The ring was only the doorway.

The pull kept drawing me toward the ringmaker herself — a radiant presence whose light and love seemed to echo the same energy that lived within the sacred geometry. I was pulled to her multiple times, feeling that her guidance and creations held the foundation of my understanding.

She became the thread that tied everything together — the living embodiment of the geometry, the energy, and the story itself. Her brightness and compassion resonated deeply within me, and through her I began to truly seek the meaning of my ring and the story it carried.

It was her craftsmanship that gave form to what my spirit already recognized. Her touch, her intention, her light — they became the conduit that revealed why I was drawn here in the first place. She didn’t just make a ring; she helped me realize what it symbolized.

It led me to symbols — to the feathers that reminded me of freedom, to the unalome and lotus that tell the story of struggle and rebirth. It led me to the number 22, hidden in the details of our lives, patiently revealing itself as the blueprint of our union.

Now I see it all as one vast geometry — each point, each curve, each decision connected by invisible lines of purpose.

The Golden Mean, the Master Builder, the 22 — these are not just ideas. They are living forces. They move through us, shaping the architecture of our lives, reminding us that even pain and loss have proportion and grace.

And that is the essence of sacred geometry: everything belongs.

Even the mistakes, the detours, the times I thought I had lost my way.

If I could leave words for my sons to read one day, it would be these:

There is a pattern inside you.

A rhythm that is older than memory.

 Trust it.

Follow the numbers that repeat, the symbols that call to you, the coincidences that feel like more than chance.

They are the way the universe whispers, “You are on the right path.”

Build your lives like we built ours — not in haste, but with intention.

 Let love be your compass.

 Let truth be your foundation.

And when you see the number 22, know that it means you are protected, guided, and connected to something far greater than yourself.

Because in the geometry of us, nothing is random.

 Every line leads home.

The end.
